Find your past exam papers

What's covered

This tool doesn't host copies of its own — it links straight to the Department of Basic Education (DBE), so the paper you open is always their current, official version.

How to use these papers well

• Do the paper first under timed, closed-book conditions — then mark it with the memo. That's what makes past papers useful; reading through one without attempting it first teaches much less.
• Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy and Physical Sciences each have two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) covering different parts of the syllabus — work through both, not just one.
• English First Additional Language has three papers: Paper 1 (language), Paper 2 (literature/set works) and Paper 3 (writing) — they test different skills, so all three are worth doing.
• Compare years once you're comfortable — question styles repeat more than you'd expect, so patterns across 2023, 2024 and 2025 are often the fastest way to spot what to revise next.
• If a link on this page doesn't open, the DBE occasionally reorganises its site — use that year's "Open the DBE page" button above and search the subject name; the paper is still there.

A note on the source

Every paper and memo here is hosted directly by the Department of Basic Education at education.gov.za — Innovation Centre Global doesn't keep separate copies, so you're always opening the department's current, official file rather than something that could go out of date. These are free public exam papers; nothing on this page requires a login, payment, or any personal information.
